Sherlock Holmes

I went to an advance screening of the movie last Thursday and I quite liked it! The three main cast members had beautiful chemistry (*cough*cough*OT3*cough*cough*) and I'd like to think that it stayed true enough to the stories while introducing a few new things.

I might be biased though; I wasn't feeling any of the outrage some hardcore Sherlock Holmes fans were feeling, and was actually kind of excited about it! Also was different since I'm not a hardcore fan (!) so it was based on the fact that I just plain liked it. It was kind of overly long though; in some ways, I think I'd watch bits and pieces of it again, but I wouldn't sit through a full sitting, which probably means it wasn't as good as it should have been. There were parts in the middle that felt a bit extraneous (though it made sense at the end) and could have been easily cut... but once you reach the ending, you'll know what I mean.

Otherwise; I liked it! Would recommend seeing it, if only to see Watson and Holmes demonstrate their oh-so-awkward love for one another. Was that vague enough???

The more I think about it, the more I think that it really was something I'd watch again... though with a bit of fastfowarding. Downey was excellent as Holmes! And really, I was more fond of Jude Law's Watson than I thought I'd be. XD

Oh, that's good to hear! I'm particularly excited to see Watson. He's been so bound down by the (fanon) view of him as portly and kinda boring and I'm looking forward to a refreshing new take on him that's more about looking at the actual novels and less about the years of movies.
