I'm looking for Relena-centric fics. And NOT necessarily Relena/anyone fanfics. I'm starting to resent those along with the Relena-bashing, there's an orgy of Relena-with-your-favourite-female/male-character. All romance. All nice. But where's RELENA? Sure, the occasional well-written Heero/Relena fics are excellent. I adore Relena/Wufei, Relena/Dorothy, Relena/Duo, Relena/Trowa... but I sometimes just want to see a fanfic, well-written, with an absorbing story...

And no romance.

I have yet to read one, and I'm too scatter-brained to be able to finish any long-type fic. Those who read "Scars" and "Symphonie" will attest to this. -_-;;

I wouldn't mind romance if that was just a subplot of sorts. I wouldn't mind a story that has Heero and Duo together, but Relena as the central character and NOT a bitch. I wouldn't mind reading Relena and Sally discussing female pride and the troubles of having a pussy in a penis-ruled world. And I would like to read it without me being the one to write it. *cries... again*

Yah.

Maybe it's the misogyny I see so much of in slash fanfiction. *shrugs*

Going back to the Fifth Book of HP...

WHERE DID CHO CHANG GO? Where did strong, independent Cho Chang go? Why has she been replaced? Why does she automatically become entirely defined through Cedric's death? Through the death of 'her man'? WHERE DID GINNY GO? Why did she suddenly go from young, blushing, enthusiastic Ginny to suddenly-Weasleymale-like-Ginny? Where did the awkward adolescence go? And WHY? Why are all the female professors described as severe, dumpy, round, short, old, or just plain bat-crazy? Why is the two opposite females either a 'cow' or a 'fussy know-it-all'? And why do they call EACH OTHER those names?

Why are Parvarti and Lavender shown as such idolent characters? And what's wrong with Divination? Why is academia so much more respected when the majority of the world (because, hey, those who attend Hogwarts are pretty much elite. There's probably many who can't afford it because wands and books and robes and everything costs MONEY! Weasley's? They aren't poor compared to far too many!) cannot read ENGLISH, let alone academic works.

... yeah, another hard day in my Women's Lit class. The Prof is HARD. And SCARY. And INCREDIBLE. Everyone person, regardless of anything, needs to take a class with a professor like that.

*grin* You should. I may just go crazy if I don't read something of substance. I've been obessively rereading yours, Ashura's, and the TTDSDG (is that it? I haven't typed it in a while) saga for the past couple of weeks. -_-;;

As for Divination, not sure exactly what about it is bad in HP, but I have a guess; in theory you could use it to get test answers. A rather banal use of magic but still, one that tips the academic balance away from those who actually study.

This is just an uneducated in the ways of HP guess.

Divination is so inaccurate sometimes that it would be safer to just guess; I doubt anyone would use it to find answers, but it's the whole attitude toward divination. -_- The protagonists mock it... actually, everyone (except maybe Dumbledore) mock it. It's funny, but then why mock someone else's religion?

You've already read my Relena fics, but there's still out there somewhere. *pets*

One of these days I ought to finish up Whither Goest Thou, Arcadia for her.

Like I told Nemkess; I've been obessively rereading all the good Relena fics out there. -_- I need something where Relena doesn't, "gaze dreamily into the prussian (!) blue eyes of Heero, forgetting that she was the Vice Foreign Minister... blah blah blah blah". I love those fics. Because I love Heero/Relena (um... sort of).

But when I'm on a rampage...

HP really is lacking in females characters, and that is not an understatement. That is one of the things that dissapoints me most about the series. And just to think...the author is a woman!

Tonks was the one interesting female in the fifth book, but I'm avoiding her because I can't help but think she's a Mary Sue, even though there are many indications that show she's not. >_<

As for Umbridge... let me repeat; WHAT IS WRONG WITH PINK?!

I happen to like Pink.
But Umbridge...*shudder*

Yeah I really liked Tonks but as far as RPing goes she MUST BE AVOIDED at all costs! She just asking to MS'ed. -_-;

Thinking about Relena/Wufei makes me nostalgic for GW fanfiction. *sighs* Oh, but my friend told me about this fic...three years ago (damn GW and I are old!) where some sort of cult-like agency approached Relena about becoming their leader or something, and Zechs had a dream where Relena slit her throat, but the cut didn't bleed, and she said something to the effect of, "Have I become what you always wanted? I'm a doll now." Duo and Heero were developing side-pairing, I think...

Anyhow, she said it was really good (Relena seemed to be the main character), and I always meant to go on a fic search or to ask one of the MLs about it, but I never got around to it. Then my obsession for GW faded....

But if you find a good list of Relena fics, please post links! ^_^
