I shouldn't be laughing? But, oh wait, I am!

I know I probably should nod furiously with all this and all that...

but I find the TV Tropes assessment of the Faux Action Girl effing hilarious.

And yes, I totally agree with the Sakura part. Cause she's so damn awesome and we're told she's so damn awesome, but we don't get to see it very often. Yeah, yeah, this is a shonen manga, Kishimoto has admitted to an inability to draw/do female characters very well, but you'd think with all the talk about how amazing and talented Sakura is, we'd get something more than a glimpse here and there.

Essentially.

THIS IS MY WHINING FOR MORE HARUNO SAKURA.

OMG, yes. I love shonen series, don't get me wrong, but sometimes, they can be so utterly boring. Almost universally, they're more interesting in the beginning before they start massively powering up every other chapter. And in general, they have this one awesome female character who gets less and less screentime as the series goes on until she's basically removed. ;_; I remember Bulma from Dragonball.

Sakura was soooo awesome, even in the beginning. Kishimoto said her obsession with Sasuke was a deliberate character flaw and I loved that. The only unfortunate thing is that she grew out of it and then wasn't given much further screen time. ALAS.
