I know I probably should nod furiously with all this and all that...
but I find the TV Tropes assessment of the Faux Action Girl effing hilarious.
And yes, I totally agree with the Sakura part. Cause she's so damn awesome and we're told she's so damn awesome, but we don't get to see it very often. Yeah, yeah, this is a shonen manga, Kishimoto has admitted to an inability to draw/do female characters very well, but you'd think with all the talk about how amazing and talented Sakura is, we'd get something more than a glimpse here and there.
Essentially.
THIS IS MY WHINING FOR MORE HARUNO SAKURA.

Date: 2008-12-14 09:38 pm (UTC)The Street Fighter movie reference about "even Chun Li got to showcase her skills against Bison" made me laugh so hard. Cause yeah it was true. She tricked him into thinking she was helpless and then BAM, she broke her chains and started whooping his ass. That was probably the most entertaining scene in that whole crappy movie. ^^;
From what I have seen and read of Naruto, Sakura was definitely one of the entertaining characters. <3

Date: 2008-12-15 05:50 am (UTC)Sakura was soooo awesome, even in the beginning. Kishimoto said her obsession with Sasuke was a deliberate character flaw and I loved that. The only unfortunate thing is that she grew out of it and then wasn't given much further screen time. ALAS.
