more about 4X01 of Doctor Who

Cause I think I'm going to faint if I don't ramble.

Seriously. I felt my heart short-circuit when the blonde mystery woman turned around and it was Rose freaking Tyler who is supposed to be in the alternate dimension but shows up just so we can get freaky Doomsday music (OH YOU LOVELY THING YOU) and the beauty of that one look from Rose's face and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

It's the Doctor/Rose shipper in me that finds it awesome that after the whole first half of the episode where the Doctor and Donna keep missing each other by scant meters and seconds, Rose was literally only a few hundred feet from the TARDIS and the Doctor and he missed her. Nice touch of parallels there.

I have no idea of whether she missed him or not, or whether there was a greater purpose in her being in the same area as the Doctor, or whether she might have known that the Doctor was there but chose not to go to him. If so, I'm all pink with glee right now.

PLOT TWIST! PLOT! PLOTTY PLOT PLOTS! I do love a good plot!

Going back to the music... tingles up and down my spine when I heard the Doomsday piece kick in.

And oh, the look on her face. She looks... older. Yes, but oh. She also looks like Rose and she looks healthy and wow, the makeup is wonderfully muted. I'm so excited about seeing what one-year-on!Rose will be like.

I suppose my only question right now about Rose is whether five years have passed or not...

I need to go dunk my head into ice water or something. Haven't been this excited about a fandom in months, nay, years!

Hello there! :-D

When I saw the back of the head I just knew and I think I leapt out of my seat... memory is slightly foggy already! Plus, Doomsday music?!?! That stuff makes me so emotional but I love it to bits, so I'm so happy they used it.

Utopia last year was pretty exciting, but this... could be an overstatement, but I am fairly sure it was the most exciting piece of TV I have ever witnessed; and I was reading every spoiler up until about two months ago. No idea it was going to happen.

There was that split half second when I saw her purple coat before I saw her face and I froze and then she turned around and I went crazy. Cause, yeah, so many spoilers and not a single one mentioned this! This was such a total surprise and it was also just such a treat. I'd totally resigned myself to not seeing any bits of Rose until the last three eps, but having a glimpse of her early on and a mention of her already?

I'm so psyched about this season!

Definitely more exciting than some of the stuff I've seen lately! I'm still trying to get over the fact that they managed to conceal it so completely 'til now.

Ooh, yeah. Great observation. (TERRIBLY, *terribly* sad, though. *sniffffff*)

I know what you mean! I'm worried this season might actually kill me. :D

If we get a mention of Rose (complete with pauses and non-assessment of relationship) and a glimpse of her so early on, the rest of this season proves to be quite promising. And I read somewhere that Rose might be the 'codeword' this season, so I'm all purple with glee right now. Can't wait to see whether this will turn out true or not!

I'd read the spoilers so I knew there was Rose coming up in the later eps but when the woman turned around and it was UNEXPECTED ROSE I nearly fell off the couch. I honestly found myself going, "WHAT?!" out loud at the screen, it was probably very disturbing for my housemates. But yeah, holy crap!!!

Donna is already more engaging than Martha and she's only had one ep in the season. I didn't like her that much in TRB but she was just perfect in this ep and I'm looking forward to her and the Doctor being 'just mates' because it's a nice change from the uncertain relationships he's had with his last two companions (the "she fancied me" line intrigued me because he didn't explain what Rose felt for him...)

Anyway, this season is going to be fantastic. I was a bit meh about it in the beginning but those three seconds of UNEXPECTED ROSE just made my life complete. Bring on the next ep!

Ooh, yes, me too. Donna's making me extremely happy with the prospect of running for their lives without any romantic (hopefully) complications. I loved Martha and I'm such a sucker for unrequited love, but I really wanted her to have a platonic relationship with the Doctor. (Yeah, that's probably the Doctor/Rose girl in my speaking)

Donna has some of the best lines in the show so far. If this ep is any indication of her snarky mouth in the future... we've got a good set of series ahead of us. I'm looking so forward to Donna kicking him in the arse sometime.

They totally threw us for a loop with that unexpected few seconds of Rose; I'm ready to believe that she's the codeword/secret of series 4. Any person who's seen the first three seasons will probably find it hardpressed not to find this possible. After all, after all the hullabaloo over Rose in S3 (just how many times did they bring her up anyhow?) I just can't believe that RTD would put her in for no reason at all.

And THAT MAKES ME ROLL AROUND MY ROOM IN GLEE.
