Once Upon a Midnight Dreary

I'm not actually that smart. *eg*
As usual, please blame the little thing I call Real Life, the Hogwarts_Online, and fanfic writing for my usual lack of updating ever since I left my college dorm room. I wish I was still in my dorm room. Hell, I wish I was anywhere but my home. Not cause of my parents, oh no, but because... I'm... so... DAMN BUSY ALL THE TIME!

^_^ Now that's over, to get onto more serious ideas.

Today's my nineteenth birthday. Do I feel older? Not really. But heck, I can go up to Canada and drink now if I want to. Which strangely enough, fills me with pride, even if I have no plans of doing so just yet. I suppose just the idea is enough to make me all gleeful with evil.
My laptop sucks, I've decided. It's not working with me, and I have all my fics on it, so I'm reduced to the pitiable state of scribbling parts of my fics into a notebook. While conducive during my boring history lectures, it's bothering me enough that I don't want to transfer them onto computer... or in computer language, into all this little '1s' and '0s' called the binary code.
But I'm having immense fun writing the Snape and Godric Gryffindor pairing I received. I've decided to combine that one and the timeturner one, so I can write dominatrix!Godric. In every single fic I read, he's always either strong and gentle, or brash and courageous (i.e. read foolish), or resigned and cheerful. Not too many bad qualities to our resident founder of 'what is good in the four Houses of Hogwarts'.
So dominatrix!Godric, submissive!Snape, and since I love Helga so much, I believe I'll add in a dash of her also.
On a small sidenote, it seems that Hogwarts Online is starting to fall apart at the edges. Just a little. Though I'm not too surprised (because after all, this involves *people*, and with *people*, you always get disharmony and general dissatisfaction with one side or the other) I'm rather sad that we may never get to the ultimate ending... I hope so, because as anti-Gryffindor I am, I do sort of want to see everything turn out 'alright' in the end. Though I'm doing it with my fingers crossed so that we see at least one Slytherin make it out of the battlefield alive.
Probably not Pansy, since I've got other plans for her, and the current way she's going, I doubt she'll live to see the very end. But maybe Narcissa... or Draco... or Serpentine Sinistra. *eg* Snape will have Remus and Sirius hopefully-guarding him every moment, so he won't die... (praying here, since I'm still that obsessive Snape-fanatic). Ooh, maybe Blaise or Marcus will live to see the end. And be happily ever after and all that terribly Gryffindor type things.
Yes, I'm writing this when I should be in class, but to hell with it. It's my b-day. If I wanna skip, I skip... though, *panic setting in* I must write my essay!! Ah, I'll do it later... Can anyone tell that I'm a procrastinator. *sighs* I'm better this year, but I still put off somethings till the end.
Have fallen back in love with Gundam Wing and Final Fantasy VII fanfics. Especially Relena and Vincent/Yuffie fics. *looks sternly at Catalina* Write more, damn you! "Sink to the Bottom With You" was the best god damn Yuffentine fic I've ever read!
And of course, Relena is taking a small hand in my fics again. Each time I see her, I write a bit more. I'm rereading some of my favorite Relena fics, including all the yummy fics by Wardove, NemKess, Beck, and all those wonderful Relena writers out there. *glomps Relena* Still a ton of anti-Relena out there, which I find thoroughly noxious. Hating someone because of their pacifism, of what they wear, what they look like... *rolls eyes* That just rankles in my blood.
Have developed a taste for Draco/Ron fics. Don't know why, but I have. And of course, Snape/Draco, Snape/Remus. For some reason, though Snape/Harry has gotten off its feet and it has a huge following now, I still can't find that many Snape/Remus and Snape/Draco fics. *growls* They're my absolute favorites (interceded by the occasional Snape/Sirius, Snape/Lucius, Snape/James, Snape/Harry (but oh, this is rare), Snape/Lockhart, and Snape/Hermione).
Is it because no one likes them?
It can't be, since there's a huge cult following for Draco (which I shamelessly follow like a whipped puppy) and Remus is extraordinarily popular considering he's only appeared in one book (which I hound like a wolf in heat). I mean, the most popular slash couple in the fandom would probably be Harry/Draco and followed veerrrrryyyyy closely by Sirius/Remus.
Never mind the fact that Snape is beloved by us snarky Snapies. (my version of Trekkies. *eg*)
So, *sob* where did it all go wrong?
I suppose exactly that. Draco may be popular, but I've noticed a trend that the 'fans of adults in HP' are a little less likely to like Draco than the 'fans of kids in HP'. That's understandable considering that Draco's a spoiled brat who we all would like to give a few reality slaps just so he could realize that 'daddy' won't always be there... and it may also be that fewer and fewer people are liking of the idea of abused!Draco by his father, mother, or both. *rolls eyes* Truthfully: I doubt Draco would be tortured or raped by Lucius. Maybe sternly disciplined, but not abused in the horrific fashions I've seen.
Which is why I hunt very carefully for H/D slash fics.
Coming to Remus: Why is he not featured in more Snape fics than normal? If it's a Snape/Harry fic, he's usually the calm, cheerful, accepting one of the two, while Sirius goes into convulsions and than tries to strangle Snape while Remus watches with even more cheerfulness while he calmly sips his tea... alright, so it doesn't happen that way exactly. ^__^
I suppose because Remus *does* seem to be a better match with Sirius to most people, though I still salivate over Snape/Remus. Call me weird. But just the idea of Snape and Remus just makes me go hot and cold all over. Like a dozen tiny fingers running up and down my spine, and little ice pockets brushing the skin on my arms and back.
See? It's happening again. I'm being attacked by giggles in the middle of the library, where all these wonderful DELL computers are.
*shivers* I'm definitely getting back into writing in my LJ. *beams*
