Oct. 7th, 2002 11:25 amAnd while leaving you all with a disturbing post last time, I have fully (almost) recovered. Am in the process of getting jobs, going to classes, and generally, living life as it should be. Or supposedly.
Spoilers for TV shows coming up!
Well, several things I must mention. Starting with Buffy. I saw the premiere and last weeks, and damn it... I love Spike, AKA James Marster. I think he's gained a little tummy, but it just makes him more 'adorable'. The whole with-a-soul thing made me a little nervous. Though I'm very fond of Angel, it seems to make the whole getting-your-soul back deal a little trivial. *thoughtful* Of course, adding in the fact that Spike went through all that torture just so he can be tortured a lot more... hee hee.
The ending of the second episode was wonderful. The horror and disbelief growing on Buffy's face was an absolute kick in the gut. And Spike draping himself over the cross, burning it into himself was... anyways, I'm very eager for tomorrows episode.
I also watched the season premiere of Angel last night. Not bad. But not incredible either. The only noteworthy parts of it belonged to Wesley. Angel was Angel. Cordelia didn't even show up until the end. And Fred and Gunn's little lovefest got old last season... therefore, I'm disappointed. Of course, Conner is actually somewhat endearing. He might have tried to kill his dad, but you have to wonder if he was hoping somewhere deep in him whether he wanted someone to find Angel. Which might be the reason why he didn't actually outright kill Angel.
Wesley. Now that boy is a piece of cake heaped with ice cream and other goodies. I absolutely loved his part. Feeding Angel his own blood. Working to actually find Angel. And not expecting any damn thanks back. Both Fred and Gunn annoy me somewhat, since they both can't work under pressure very well. This episode, instead of emphasizing their strength, only made their weaknesses as characters more apparent. And they need some serious growing up. For real. Just because Wesley doesn't fuss around Angel means he doesn't care at all anymore? Just because he made one bad decision (and personally, I felt it was partially right. The circumstances surrounding Angel's son could have created a catastrophe), kicking him out of their warm little group seems prejudiced and idiotic. You can tell I'm not too fond of Gunn and Fred.
ER was a disappointment too. Sort of. It's hard to tell with that anymore. Though the Premiere hit something huge. Romano's arm was cut off, and that alone made me sputter for half the episode. It's little things (or is it big, bloody things?) like that which make ER really interesting. The Abby-Carter relationship makes me giddy with delight. But Elizabeth grates on my nerves. I'm very fond of Carrie, so nyah. And Pratt is a Prat.
Kissy kiss on Friends. Not much to say about it.
I gave up on Charmed when Shannon Dohertery left. The whole premise of the show was The Power of Three. And one of the three dies, to be replaced by a half-sister no one ever heard of. Erm.
In-Laws was hilarious. ^__^ One of the few new shows I liked. And Scrubs! Augh! That show deserves so much credit!
That's all folks. Oh wait. Survivor. I find myself closing my eyes when I watch it. It's... it's... it's...
*shudders* I feel a sort of sympathy for those folks being voted off. It's like middle and high school all over again.
