demeter918: blue doraemon cat (Default)
Three days of pure chaos.

Which was one of the best weekends ever.

I finally met Jamie-chan, a fellow anime fan who I've known online for years now, but never met, even though we literally only live 3 1/2 hours away from each other. We were supposed to meet at last year's Sakuracon, but things disrupted us, so we never saw each other. *sigh* But this year! I arrived at the Con (after attending morning classes at the U. *sighs again* School must come first) and went to her hotel room... AH!!!!!!!! *glomps Jamie-chan again* And in the process, I met Amanda, Kris, and Tanet (Teanette. Tanette... *Um... help?*), sweet-as-honey anime fans.

Kris is a yaoi-fan girl's dream. *grin*

Anyway, I had the *most* fun ever with them. Because I'm not the greatest in making costumes (though I can sew, and if I actually put my mind to it, I probably could make a decent costume...), but midterms, finals, China... it all kind of left me floating in the water. *cough* Alright, so I procrastinated. SO... Jamie was wearing a Slytherin outfit! *gringringringrin* You can tell I was glomped on to her.

Lots of everything. Twenty-four hour anime video rooms, a fantabulous Exhibitor's room with lots of everything. There was even a table selling yaoi (slash) doujinshi! The guy would stand up every so often, cup his hands around his mouth, and then yell, "Get your yaoi doujinshi! Get your yaoi doujinshi HERE!" I happened to be standing right by the booth when he did it on Saturday, so I managed to get in there before a wave of girls converged on the stand. Hee hee.

Costumes were numbered in the hundreds, and I managed to fill almost six rolls of film. Ones I remember: Strider from the PS game Strider. He was... *fans self* We were at the Karaoke Contest, and we were waiting for Jamie to sign up, when I sat down with Kris and Jamie, gleefully watching all these costumed (because they were *all* costumed) people sing their favourite anime songs (or Japanese). Ah! They remembered ALL the lyrics! In Japanese! Me very impressed.

So I glanced to the left... and there Strider was. I think it was the red mask that undid me. I have a think for masks. (Larva comes prominently to mind). The red cloth that covered his nose and mouth but left his eyes (pretty, pretty eyes) uncovered. So of course - I fangirled him. Gave him a hug (squeal) and got two pictures. I was hoping to get another one on Saturday, but I never saw him again. *sighs* He might have been scared off.

I purchased several DVD's, including FLCL and His and Her Circumstances. I've read the manga and watched the anime in China, but the english dubs were actually pretty good, surprisingly. It's gotten better and better. *grin*

I'm also now very desperate to get Episode Zero in *all* it's forms. I bought the Episode Zero: #7 manga. Wufei. *nods solemnly* I now love the boy more than ever.

Friday was excellent... but it was only an appetizer for Saturday. *grin*

Finish the rest... later.
