This fic is all I could wish in a long fic that deals with the story of the Sohma family. I can't wait for chapter 22. ^_^

Because all these fics have to be read... I reserve the right to repost my fic recs from over a week ago. Go read them. Trust me. You will be surprised. But... um, if you're Furuba, One Piece, and Naruto fans.

I really love Naruto and Sakura. They're so PRETTY! I love Naruto's Japanese VA.

When I get home tonight, I'm downloading Naruto 81. It's so pretty.

And I'll provide a list of some AMV's I feel everyone should take a look at later. I just twitch like mad when I watch them.

"Evermore" by Zapenstap
For fantasy/Furuba fans. ^_^ Very lovely read, plus a thoroughly involved storyline that won't just stop at Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru. Everyone's involved, and there's a positively gorgeous portrayal of Akito. Everyone hates and loves him with their relentless intensity, and it's so mixed up that no one can tell which is which. For fantasy-buffs, there's a full-blown world in there that's just itching to be explored. But yes; what attracted me is Akito. XD

"Secrets of the Sohma" by Aishuu
Okay, there are parts I definitely don't like in this story, and several character portrayals I disagree, but the writing is lovely, and the story even more so. There are few fics that concentrate on Momiji and even fewer to this degree. It involves Momiji, his sister Momo, and slightly, Haru. Yuki and Tohru are together, as are Kyo and Kagura, if anyone is really curious. But it's not about them (for once!) and it's rather painful to read the detailed uncovering of one of the deepest open secrets of the Sohma family.

To be honest, I haven't actually seen too many FB stories that I'm overly fond of. It may be because I could care less if Tohru ended up with Yuki or Kyo. Their stories are the overwhelming majority, and while I enjoy reading them in manga, fic just doesn't do anything for me. Same for Kyo/Yuki fics. I've latched strongly onto Akito, and it's a little unfortunate, but I think I'm too overly obsessed with him. I can't really stomach a fic that dismisses him, even if the fic is amazing, but if it has negative!Akito images, my stomach roils and I have to get out of there. "Secrets of the Sohma" was a surprising exception. It may be that it dealt with Momiji instead of Kyo/Yuki/Tohru, and there was this vague distance. Of course, Momiji's change in the fic is derived from Akito's cruelty, but it was... different. Hm. Well. Satisfying FB fics are still hard to find.


One Piece
"Seven Deaths" by X-parrot
I've mentioned the author before, and it's a new fic. Sanji and Zoro companion-fic all the way. Tired of reading overrated romances be it slash or het? This is the answer for you. ^_^ X-parrot writes a lot of gen fic that's absolutely fantastic. Like torture? This will bring it to a whole new level for you. So painful it's beautiful. XD


Naruto
"Tainted Demon Eyes" by Nes Mikel
A what-if? story that replaces the original character of Naruto as Nine-tails with someone familiar but new. *grin* I actually quite like it even though the story's a little uneven in places and there's the danger of falling into recreating the characters into new ones, but overall, it's hilarious. Sasuke? Womanizer. Sakura? Nine-Tails (yes, I went WHAT?! too). Naruto? Sasuke (confuzzled? read). There are switches everywhere, and weirdly, it works. It made me twitch like mad.

"Ornament" by Goddess Kes
Odd chapters: Kakashi/Sakura. Even chapters: Sasuke/Naruto. Since I actually don't care much for Sasuke/Naruto *ducks the hordes of angry fans* I just skipped them, but in the effort to do a complete review, after I satisfied myself on the oh-so-delicious KakaSaku fic, I went back and reread the SasuNaru sections. They're actually not bad, though I couldn't help but wince at the romance of it all. One thing I really love about KakaSaku fics is that they can't really be romantic. Otherwise, we'd have anarchy on our hands, since Kakashi wouldn't be... well, Kakashi. If the story is well-written, Kakashi can't be stereotypically 'romantic'. The same thing can be said for Kakashi/Iruka fics. >_< I adore Kakashi so, so, so much.

"Transition Anchor" by Chelsee
A more-or-less gen fic. There's... this agonizing quality about it. It has a dry tone, and it works. We don't see very much of the daily life-to-life of Naruto characters, but this takes Naruto's life, reports it, and the reader just absolutely falls in love with the boy. You can't help but just fucking love Naruto after reading this story. I almost went mad as I read it, and I just wanted to make his life sparkle and fill it with food and love and friends. ^_^

"To Mend this Dream" by paddy's-tsunami
Another KakaSaku rec. One reason I sympathize with Sakura is the fact that she's the one always left behind. Whether it be the battle between Sasuke or Naruto, or the chuunin contest or anything, Sakura is this genin, this student who has to watch the backs of others. Kakashi, as wonderful as he is, doesn't spend time training her as much as using her as a block of sorts. She's the one who sits on his back while he does pushups. She's the one who comes between Naruto and Sasuke when they're really trying to kill each other. She's the one who tries to stop Sasuke from leaving and fails. She's the one who has to have Naruto bring Sasuke back, knowing very well that she doesn't have the power. She's the one who has to watch her team disintegrate and know that Kakashi doesn't care as much as her, that Sasuke is walking too dark a path for her to see, and that Naruto is already leagues in front of her. Sakura has to sit and watch and know all this, and my heart just absolutely breaks. *koff* So. This is a good fic. There are times I feel a little off-kilter and it's not quite perfect, but it's excellent in terms of plotting and detail.
