Apr. 21st, 2006 11:19 amThe weather still makes me want to throw myself off one step (ha, no cliffs for this height-a-phobic gal) but it's gradually turning warm and the sun is struggling to peek over the cloud cover. Sure hope Toyama breaks its tradition of being the 46th prefecture out of 47 that gets the least amount of sun in Japan. Sure hope.
I haven't mentioned this before, but I'm involved with the JET charity show this year and I'm in charge of props, sets, and costumes and the stress is starting to build in the corners of my brain. I really hope people are going to be amiable about helping out since there's this thing about saying but not doing. Which reminds me about a bunch of things I have to send out.
Question: cockroaches.
You read that right. I have a question about that. Apparently, during the summer seasons of June and July, the cockroaches make an appearance and if there's any creepycrawly thing I hate above all, it's the cockroach. Spiders? Freaky, but I can trap or kill them. Cockroaches? CRUNCH. NO. I cannot crunch them. The idea of crunching them makes me get all goosebumpy and I can feel the fear curdle in my stomach right now. There's apparently not a lot I can do; they appear, they're a part of the system here. I'm hoping that by being higher up in the building, I'll be able to avoid the cockroaches but the idea of even one in my apartment freaks me out.
What do people suggest for this? There are the traps of course and I guess I'll have to get used to throwing those icky things away (shudder) but is there a way just to keep them out? Don't keep raw foods or any sort outside, throw garbage away everyday, keep the rooms as clean as possible... what else?
... it says something about me that I'm wishing there was some sort of oil or scent I could put in my room to ward those, those, those, those things out.
I wish I lived on the twentieth floor.
By the way, Gintama the anime is starting and I'm downloading it. I like the manga series, but I don't feel much overwhelming love for it; maybe the anime will change my mind. Note: this is the OVA I'm talking about.
