Jul. 20th, 2006 03:35 pmI've been seriously bad about updating lately. Yeah. Don't know why. Maybe because a lot of people are leaving now and the newbies are coming in and I'm filled with both a strange cloud of sadness and anticipation. I'll miss a lot of people and I'm happy new blood's coming in, but you know the adage; people are comfortable with routine. Even the most pseudoemo person will be resistant to change and no one can tell me (or rather, no one can make me believe) that those who claim to be resilient to it all like this any bit more than me.
And yay, there's your depressing message of the day!
No cockroaches yet, by the way.
I have boxes of stuff I have to send out to people. Again.
BPAL is ruling my life right now.
Summer vacation just started, though I do think that the American idea of summer vacation is very different from the Japanese idea. I mean, these kids still come to school nearly everyday for club activities, preparation for Sports Day, and a million and one other reasons. It's a bit disconcerting really.
Okay. So I'm spending five days in Tokyo starting next Saturday (well, Friday evening) to welcome in the newbies and get in some Tokyo time to myself (Fujiya cake shop! Harajuku shopping! Ikebukuro doujinshi!) Hopefully, they won't be quite as bewildered as I was when I first stepped into Tokyo. Bwa ha ha ha ha!
After that, will hopefully be a five day jaunt to Beijing, which, yes, I have been to before, but I'm going again, so there.
And after that? YAY! HOME! I'm returning stateside from August 12-22! If you're in the Washington area, come and give me a looksee!
