Hi! I know you through altar_of_akito and that's how I found your fic journal. I have read some of your stories and have *loved* all of them (one of my favorites was "Autumn Wind." It was beautiful in more ways than I can really/coherently explain) and I was excited when I saw you had posted a new fic.
"Truth" was lovely. First I have to say I really like how you experiment with words. The way this story was constructed (almost with a "this is what happened" and "this is why" format -I know that's an over-simplification but I can't think of a better way to describe it-), together with your sentences (lyrical... beautiful sentences) gave out such a timeless effect. What a great story!
I love the key events you portrayed and your insights into every character/situation. When you look at things this way, it really is no surprise that Akito is the way she is and acts the way she acts. She is desperate. The world is falling apart. She does not know any better.
I liked this line, too: He stews in it, steeps in a tea made strong by his own desire to be the one, the only. Wow. And this: They both know this can only end badly makes me shudder. I've been thinking about this a lot. What happens after/if the curse is broken? Can these people really heal? How can Akito adapt emotionally and socially to a new life? I absolutely love Akito and Shigure *crosses fingers and hopes they do end together* but sometimes it seems to me that, independently from Akito's issues, Shigure will be released when he loves Akito for her sake and not for his own (meaning he is so obsessed now that he's lost sight of what he wanted in the beginning).
Sorry for the long rambling and mostly incoherent post, but thanks so much for this beautiful story.
