Oh, yeah, she totally got shafted. But I think there was the issue that Catherine Tate wanted only one season and I can't, for the life of me, think of a way they could have had her exit the TARDIS while still being that awesome, awesome character she is. Part of her awesomeness is just how much she enjoys traveling and seeing new things; but with that set-up and Tate wanting only one season and the dubious nature of Tennant's own era, I feel like this was one of the few ways to preserve the possibility of a future comeback AND have her leave the TARDIS. I wish she'd left of her own free will, but... ugh. I know, I totally hated the ending, but I understand why it went down the way it did.
Mickey staying is awesome, but the mechanics of it is what's weirding me out; for one thing, how about all the friends he made in Pete's World? How about his job there? And yeah, I keep thinking of Jake. He lost his friend twice now...
