Ohhhh, Doctor Who and Marriage

I was just the teensiest bit surprised when I read the news this morning about the 'spoilers' RTD has been throwing out regarding the Christmas Special this year.
Ho, this is good.
... that apparently, the Doctor does get married and it apparently is River Song, and that it's going to end tragically. Again. I feel kind of bad for him, but dude, this is starting to become an unpleasant pattern.
(I miss the Ninth Doctor. He used to do all our brooding for us.)
It's good to know that River Song will be making a reappearance (um, maybe?) though I'm wondering how they're going to go about this. Is it going to be like the three previous Christmas specials where it takes place immediately after the season finale? If so, then, wow, we have one depressed Doctor on our hands. I'm still hoping that they'll do their Doctor-fu and somehow reverse the memory issues with Donna, (No, seriously. This is Doctor Who. They can explain (or pretend to explain) anything away) but I'm willing to wait a few seasons.
Maybe this is blasphemy, but I'm kind of ready for Tennant to move on. He was a great Doctor and I do love him, but it feels like he's constantly being abused on the show; I don't know how much more I can take of it. (It feels like a crime!) Obviously, if it continues the way it is, I'll also still be an avid watcher, but... yeah. I'm okay with Tennant leaving and a new Doctor coming in.
(Though it does pain me, just a little, that we might not get the little mentions of Rose anymore. I hope we do. I mean, if River Song is his wife, surely she'll know about Rose? She knows about Donna after all and that seems like something he might not have shared either, once upon a time.)
Plus... she'd probably have to know that there's another version of him running around in a parallel universe. You know, just in case Ten-2 pops up again.
(Hee, I just imagined a distant future episode where Rose and Ten pop back into this universe, only it's the Eleventh Doctor and the three of them go on a fabulous adventure (constrained only by the limits of hour-long specials). Oh, that would be fantastic!)
Still... married!Doctor. I never saw him getting married to Rose either, though I saw them spending the rest of her life together. Having the Doctor married is a little bit odd, but I guess he IS getting close to his Thirteenth self.
I bet it's a mid-life crisis.
Snerk.
