I went to an advance screening of the movie last Thursday and I quite liked it! The three main cast members had beautiful chemistry (*cough*cough*OT3*cough*cough*) and I'd like to think that it stayed true enough to the stories while introducing a few new things.

I might be biased though; I wasn't feeling any of the outrage some hardcore Sherlock Holmes fans were feeling, and was actually kind of excited about it! Also was different since I'm not a hardcore fan (!) so it was based on the fact that I just plain liked it. It was kind of overly long though; in some ways, I think I'd watch bits and pieces of it again, but I wouldn't sit through a full sitting, which probably means it wasn't as good as it should have been. There were parts in the middle that felt a bit extraneous (though it made sense at the end) and could have been easily cut... but once you reach the ending, you'll know what I mean.

Otherwise; I liked it! Would recommend seeing it, if only to see Watson and Holmes demonstrate their oh-so-awkward love for one another. Was that vague enough???

I am also really looking forward to this! My daughter is a quite ardent (hardcore) Sherlock Holmes fan, but she's also an ardent Holmes/Watson shipper and a Robert Downey, Jr. fan, and she says that one just needs to approach the movie with the right attitude. She anticipates enjoying it immensely. ^_^

What is this OT3 of which you speak? *perks*
