Some of you must have seen this Japanese drama series. I remember the title would be roughly translated "The Seventeen Year Old Girl's Trials". It's a sucky translation; it sounds much better in its original form; but essentially, it deals with the lives of female high school students in modern Japan; I think it was either based off the manga or the manga was based off the series. (I'm inclined to think of it as the former). Whatever it was, it was one good Japanese drama series.
It centered around the high school psychologist who has problems of her own that she doesn't quite remember and there's a huge twist to the end, that makes a lot of the subtle going-ons suddenly make sense in the end. But basically, it looks at teenage suicide, male-teacher-to-female-student harassment, lesbianism, drugs, the pressure to attend the best schools and college, and bullying. It was a wonderful series, but I have absolutely no idea what it's called now. -_-
I'll look for it when I'm in China (or Japan, if I'm lucky) this summer.
