... Angel left a lot to be desired of... but...

Who could not cry when Wesley died? He led such a tragic, terrible life and then he died with Fred (or Illyria) weeping above him. I love, love, love him. But. It's bad when that's the only scene I really felt all weepy over. The lastdayforyoutolive stuff really didn't strike much of a chord (well, except for Lorne, strangely enough).

I actually rather like Illyria. It would have been so interesting to see where her story would have progressed if there was another season. And blue is so badass. But this is stupid to talk about when the ending was ambiguous, and we knew Gunn was literally bleeding to death... no wonder everyone hates mortality.

Lindsay's death was a big surprise for me. And Eve's forlorn voice asking where she could go? Mmm.

Still... Wesley. Death. Beautiful. Angst. Actually wept. Have not done that in a while for a TV show. Now am urged to write resurrection fics. -_-

Troy still bothers me.

It has to be the fact that I will never see Clytaemnestra kill Agagmemnon. I love Clytaemnestra.

And the fact that we don't get to see the Trojan Women weep and curse and lament and console. There is no Cassandra, there is no Hecuba, and hell! There was barely an Andromache! But I suppose since there's no Agagmemnon, they wouldn't feel the need to put in Cassandra. Dieeeeeeeeeee.

I want to write one of those "Troy in Fifteen Minute" pieces. Tempted. Hope my temptation lasts in me.

I wonder how much of Illyria's weeping there and saying "I love you" was a lie and how much wasn't.

It does make one wonder, doesn't it? Near the end, she says she can't seem to stem the grief...

The way they did it actually worked too. I would have been completely looking forward to another season with Illyria and Wesley.

or Illyria without Wes would have worked too, I just like Ill, though I didn't see too much of her, boyfiend was here to distract me when she came about.

I found that book!

Eric, by Terry Pratchett. (Some of the names were changed but if you know your mythology, you know exactly what is going on.)

There was a woman there-plump, good-looking in a slightly faded way, wearing a black dress and the beginnings of a mustache. A number of children of varying sizes were trying to hide behind her. Rincewind counted at least seven of them.
"Who's that?" said Eric.
"Ahem," said Rincewind. "I rather think it's Elenor of Tsort." [ <- Helen of Troy ]
"Don't be silly," whispered Eric. "She looks like my mum. Elenor was much younger and was all-" His voice gave out and he made several wavy motions with his hand, indicative of the shape of a woman who would probably be unable to keep her balance.
Rincewind tried not to catch the sergeant's eye.
"Yes," he said, going a bit red. "Well, you see. Er. You're absolutely right, but well, it's been a long siege, hasn't it, what with one thing and another."
"I don't see what that's got to do with it," said Eric sternly. "The Classics never said anything about children. They said she spent all her time mooning around the towers of Tsort and pining for her lost love."
"Well, yes, I expect she did pine a bit," said Rincewind. "Only, you know, you can only pine so much and it must have been a bit chilly up on those towers."
"You can catch your death, mooning," nodded the sergeant.
...Once again Lavaeolus [Odyseus] showed that along with his guerrilla abilities was a marked reluctance to waste a prepared speech once she had it all sorted out in his head.
"Fair maiden," he began. "We have faced many dangers in order to rescue you and take you back to your loved..." His voice faltered. "...ones. Er. This has all gone terribly wrong, hasn't it?"
"I can't help it," said Elenor. "The siege seemed to go on for such a long time and King Mausoleum was very kind and I never liked it in Ephebe anyway."
..."Couldn't you, you know, have slipped us a note or something?" Or invited us to one of the christenings?"
"You all seemed to be enjoying yourselves so much," she said.

=) Great book. My favorite line was, "Boil the water!"

*rotflm* That was hilarious! I've never heard of this book! I thought there were only three books in the whole Discworld series that had Rincewind in it... is this new? *scribbles name down to go hunt it down*

Eric isn't a relatively new book. It was published in 1990 (according to the front page of it where it talks of all the copyrights, where it was published, who has the rights, what edition it is, etc. etc.). I do know that it's one of my favorite Discworld books. =D (I love the Classics, but quite frankly, Eric is more entertaining.)
