This is all the relevant scans and necessary translations (remember! rough) of V.1 of Fruits Basket. And one scan to introduce Kagura cause I love her so much. =P

It's either a shadow or mention of Akito (such as Shigure saying he'd need to report in with Akito on the fact that Tohru now knew the family secret and one of the first glimpses (of his back of course) of Akito) or even a scene that doesn't seem to be about Akito... may in fact be.



Tohru: At this sort of time, I am so sorry, but I must attend school properly.
Tohru: This is a pact I made with my deceased mother.
Shigure: But. I must first report to Akito… the Sohma Family’s current Head, this situation
Shigure: Because the Sohma Family’s greatest secret has been found out by someone.
Tohru: The current Head… must be a amazing person! I understand
Tohru: I’m going to school!
Yuki: I now want to ask you why you told her about us,
Yuki: I’m sure you plan on sealing her memories, just like before.
Shigure: I had no intention of doing such a thing/
Shigure: There were too many people who knew that time, so there was no other way but to do it.

Kagura: I WANTED TO SEE YOU SO MUCH!!!
[Tohru: Ah…?]
Kagura: Hooo!



Kagura: HOW ARE YOU GOING TO NOT FORGIVE ME? SAY IT!
Kyo: IT HURTS!!!!
Yuki: Kyo, just let her forgive you!

[Tohru: What does the ‘real look’ mean?]
[Tohru: But, still…]
[Tohru: Kagura seems to really like Kyo very much. I’ve never even had a first love… ]
[Tohru: To see her love a boy so much, it makes me a little envious.]

Kagura: I want to live here… with a girl at Kyo’s side, I feel a little uneasy…
Shigure: To be able to live here for a night, you should already feel very fulfilled.

The last one is probably my favorite. Why? Because Shigure says to Kagura that he once felt jealousy (the way this is written is jealousy about love rather than jealousy about anything else). Jealousy over what? *arches eyes* Could it be? Is it... AKITO? ^_^

And that's V.1! I know 1-3 has already been released in the US, so I might start on the later volumes (post-9). Starting around 10, we really start getting Akito lusciousness. It's all about the artless grace, the posing, the posessive hugs (especially with Hatori, Kureno, and Haru), the slipping robes, the mad eyes, the screaming matches... >_< heaven.

Yeah, manga in the US certainly is expensive, but they have scanslations all over the net. ^_^ And I'll be doing the Akito-parts, so never fear!

Excellent Anime Inserts

Just watched "Kill Bill, Vol.1" last night. What an action flick! I dismissed it long ago during previews, like "Oh, just another gimmicky Mortal Combat/Charlie's Angels show-off". It was awesome! The anime inserts, the ridiculously opposing music themes to actual content, the soundtrack! A bit sadistic, to understate so. By Quentin Tarantino -- plenty of black comedy kind of humor.
Gotta see it!
