This thread started as a 'state your opinion on the possibility of Vincent x Yuffie in Dirge of Cerberus' but because so many people simply stated their opinion in general, telling the VY fans that it couldn't happen, a debate started. My debating was not entirely about whether Vincent and Yuffie could ever be canon, my debating was why is it all right for you tell me what I like is wrong when it's based on your interpretations of the characters?

Based on my interpretations of Vincent and Yuffie it is entirely possibly. Based on your's it's not but that doesn't mean you have the right to say that it's wrong either. Thus, I demanded proof. Prove to me that your interpretation of the characters is the right one. And it isn't. There isn't a single person on this thread that works for SE or that knows everyone nuance of every character of the game. There isn't a single person on this thread that is an authority on Final Fantasy 7. There isn't a single person on this thread that can tell anyone else, "Your interpretation of these characters is wrong."

Stop telling the Vincent x Yuffie fans that it can't happen because your opinion is law. Stop telling us that we're not allowed to believe that Vincent x Yuffie can happen in DoC because we believe that their characters can develop in that direction. We aren't telling you that you're wrong, only that you can't prove that you're right, that it's a grey area where no one is right or wrong. So, stop telling us we're wrong.

A proper way to state one's opinion, by the way, would be 'I think...' or 'My opinion is...' or 'I believe...' You don't have facts, don't treat your opinion like it is a fact.

Also, a real debate is part opinion and part evidence to back up that opinion. When I say, show me proof that my interpretation is wrong, you can't do it, thus my debate is over. Feel free to keep discussing or debating or whatever but leave me out of it."
