a rant... of sorts

If I want to like a female character, that's my fucking right. If I want to see her with one-half of a popular slash couple, well, that's my right too. Sure, I don't see Cid/Vincent too much. You do, and you know what? That's great! You like Cid and Vincent! I like them too, but I like my Yuffie/Vincent better. Am I being homophobic?
FUCK NO.
Are you being a twit?
WHY, YES.
I like Relena, Akito, Rikku, Yuffie, Aeris, Tifa, Sakura, Ino, Rinoa, Eiko, why, I like most female characters! In fact, I prefer female characters to male characters most of the time! That's called a preference. Y'know, the lovely thing that makes you like slash pairings more? There are some slash pairings I adore; Snape/Remus being one of them! Do I like Snape/Hermione? Not really. Do I like Snape/Draco? YES! Do I think I have to like Snape/Remus?
NO.
Do I think you have to like Snape/Remus?
NO.
Do I like Cloud/Tifa? Yes. Do I think Cloud/Aeris is evil? NO. Cloud/Aeris is beautiful and painful and wonderful. I just like Cloud/Tifa better. And you know what? It doesn't matter most of the time because I'm concentrating on Yuffie! Cloud could sleep with a leech for all I care!
I don't call Sephiroth a maniacal murderer, so don't call Yuffie an immature snot.
I don't think Tohru is a brainless idiot, so leave Akito alone from your deranged anti-Akito feelings.
Iruka/Kakashi ain't my cup of tea, but if they're yours, well, more power. Kakashi/Sakura is my cup of tea, so kindly leave Sakura alone.
Notice the trend? NOTICE THE FUCKING TREND WHERE ONLY THE GIRLS ARE BEING DEBASED AND RIDICULED AND FUCKING HATED ON WHILE THE MEN GO SKIPPING ALONG THE WAY?
*goes to drown self in work*
=) Whoo, that felt good.

Date: 2005-10-27 06:45 am (UTC)It is a preference, as you say, to like some better then others and really that is what makes people individuals.

I like Relena, I HATE Duo-Hiiro combos, I'm NOT a fan of yaoi which pisses a LOT of people off, and I like mostly female characters and have my usual droolfest over the males.
I just don't talk to people about my fandoms anymore >D
...
And I think Kefka is hot. Which scares a lot of people.
