For those curious, I received my first BPAL perfume! The scent is called "Snow White" and it was the 2005 winter edition, I believe? I also got a little sample (imp?) of a scent called "Desire" and they're both yummy as hell. Especially "Desire". The only other scent in my life that's ever made me feel this good was by Nanette Lepore. It's just... well, you know. Comforting.

The website says "Desire" is made of: The overwhelming agony of passion crystallized into a singularly dark and magnetic blend: bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla.

The vanilla is the overwhelming scent by far, but for some reason, I kept thinking baby powder the whole time. Fresh baby powder. It was laced with something sweet and yes, it definitely made me want to lounge around with my head thrown back. Odd, that was.

I'm still not too fond of the way the website's organized and the description of the scents, but hey, lots of people love it. The ones that are actually connected to real stories and myths are a bit more to my liking. I'm really impressed by just how long the scent is lasting. I put it on this morning and it's still going strong (though the scent has become pleasantly faint). It makes my knees go kinda weak. ;) Wonder how this will affect others?

Have not tried "Snow White" outside yet, but I will. And I've gone a bit crazy on the website, looking for new scents to add to my cart. They only deliver to the states :( so I'm going to have to have a friend send it to Japan. Either way...

Damn. Yet another thing that'll be sucking my income. Ha. Ha. Ha

I'm so not a girly girl - I've never worn perfume before, and I haven't worn jewelry on a normal day since Grade 9, when I got out of the habit because I had Home Ec. and Industrial Arts all morning.

I'm such a girly girly girl. ;) I love pink and shiny things and I am a great lover of perfume, though I tend to buy them by the way they look on the outside. Due to the fact that my dad has a vague allergy (he claims to have allergies, but I think he just doesn't like scents) to perfumes, I've never worn them much. But dude. BPAL has the longest-smelling oils I've ever tried. *love*

Dude! I can send you some imps! I have tons lying around that didn't work on me!

EEE! I would love you! I've been checking out BPAL communities and such and the imps are the best idea since you can try out a scent without breaking your bank account. XD I'd totally buy them off you; what scents do you have?

Bah, no buying! I've got... Umbra, Lucy's Kiss, Hesperaedes, White Rabbit, Loup Garou, Danube... and a bunch of others I can't think of off the top of my head!

Yeah, imps are best. I've only bought two bottles of anything, Anabell Lee and Lex Talionis, and I was given Red Lantern and Khajuraho as a gift.

Actually, Red Lantern is the one I've decided to get. I was looking at the description of it and it just sounded so, so, so, so, well, good that I've bid for a bottle of it off Ebay. ;)

As for the imps; I'm such a BPAL newbie that anything would be good. Quite literally. The only two scents I have are Snow White and Desire (though I'm going to get a full bottle of Desire since it smells so darn good; eight hours and counting and the scent is still on my wrists!) and I love both of them, which bodes well for my future BPAL experiences.

Red Lantern is divine. It's not a scent I can wear many places, because it's so boozy on me - it really does smell like an opium den on me - but I adore it!

I shall just send you the ones that don't work on me, then. I wanted them to work, but my body chemistry just hated them.

*beams* That would be absolutely lovely! *clings*

For one thing, I wouldn't have wait as long as making a fresh order (I'm sending my current order to my home stateside, since it'll probably be finished by the time I get there) and I get new scents to try out without resorting to ebay. ;)

... did I tell you lately how much I love you? XD I'll email you my address! How much d'ya think shipping would be?

I have about eight imps, but so far I haven't quite been able to overcome my no-scents training enough to wear them. Some of them are too much like normal perfume, but a couple of them are *really* nice.

I have tons of commercial perfume (the stuff you can purchase easily at a department store or Sephora) but I used to buy perfume based on whether I liked the bottle or not and less so on the scent. (a notable exception is Nanette Lepore, but that's because my brother got my the scent for my birthday and I think my love for him makes me love it more than I might have). I'm dying to try the chocolate ones, like "Bliss".

I am addicted to BPAL, since a lot of regular perfumes don't seem to work for me. I like the rose-scented London and Vinland, as well as Glasgow, from the Wanderlust section; Juliet and Katharina from the Illyria section and Catherine from the Diabolus section--all of these worked well on me, but of course, it varies from person to person.

Welcome to the Dark Side! No really, it's a lot of fun!

I think the best thing thus far is the fact that it lasts. Even the Chance perfume oil didn't last this long, but, let's see, seven hours later, it's still good on my wrists. MMM. I love it. And I can't wait to try the other blends.

And I swore I'd never never never fall for it. ;)

Enjoy your new scents :-)

<a href="http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/"Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab</a>. It is truly a site of wonder, though I think it's a bit daunting for a first time visitor. I remember going there the first time and being a little put off by the way the site was organized, but it's aimed at a certain audience and it does it well.
