Calling for Grammar Fiends!

My JTE has just asked me a question that I'm not sure of how to answer.
rise - rose - risen
partake - partook - partaken
rebind - rebound - rebound
run - ran - run
sink - sank - sunk
I know when to use each, but that's not the problem. She's looking for the specific, all-encompassing word for it and I don't quite know!

Date: 2006-09-15 05:17 am (UTC)Hee hee, both the others were right - they're irregular verbs, and the final word of each strand is the past participle - remember that past participles need auxiliary verbs (like 'had' and 'be') to go in front of them, because "I begun my training" is incorrect. ^^
