Spent all week imagining what this episode would be like.

Yes, yes, I was really looking forward to this episode because of the fact that the very last time we saw the Oods? Twas in S2 on "The Impossible Planet". HA. So, I'm hoping for a Rose reference here and there. Maybe. WHEE.

- Andy Warhol Ood. Okay.

- Evil!Ood already?

- Rocking back and forth... I probably should not be so amused by this. BUT HO I AM.

- OH NOES. THE BLUE SUIT IS BACK.

- His hair, omg, his hair. *dies laughing* It's so cute!

- GOSH! DONNA! *tears* The excitement is so palpable!

- EPIC FAIL DOCTOR

- Wait, no! NO EPIC FAIL! OMG, that's gorgeous!

- Moltebennet? I SO SPELLED THAT WRONG.

- That look on his face when he turned around reminded me of a... I don't know what. But, nice gums, Doctor! I see you brush.

- "You wearing anything inside that?"
"Why, actually no. Take me Doctor, take me hard."

- Ho. That was terrible.

- HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Ah, Donna I love you! The TARDIS is a box and the other guys got a Ferrari! The Doctor looks a bit smacked.

- Infection of the Ood. That'd make a really good B-grade horror movie.

- Hair tonic... ain't helping.

- OMG. That noise is like a song. AND LETS LISTEN TO MY HEAD GO INTO PARANOIA MODE! I sang a song and the Daleks ran away.

- Okay. Yeah. That's just me being stupid. And Rose-crazy.

- Hee, the stethoscope comes out again. Now I wonder if it's the same one from The Christmas Invasion

- Whoa, I actually jumped a bit!

- Oh, right. The telepathic song. Not Rose. DUH.

- The episode itself was mentioned, but not really Rose. Though I suppose anything could be going through his head at that.

- hee, I wouldn't believe him either, Donna!

- "Aha, civilization." That... that is some bad CGI.

- Oh, that is SO CUTE! The way the Doctor grinned at her as she spouted all off about the Noble corporation!

- "It's rabid, sir." LIKE, WHAT?

- Like, ew. Seriously, this is disturbing the way the Ood are treated. Maybe it's just my 21st century sensibilities. Donna's pretty much looking the same way.

- The second Great Bountiful Human Empire... you know, I've never really thought about it, what it meant to be the Fourth Great Bountiful Human Empire. Dude.

- *random* 0_0 The bees disappearing. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

- SIGN?

- "Why do you say 'Miss'? Do I like single?" Wow, sensitive much, Donna? ;)

- The circle - foreshadowing!

- Off to find trouble, what a jeopardy-friendly duo!

- Stage two of red-eye. Lovely.

- Ew. Ew. Spittle. Everywhere. Frothing. Ew.

- Another reference to "The Impossible Planet" and "Satan's Pit". A memory of the TARDIS falling into the center of the planet or a memory of Rose? Both, probably.

- LET US SEE WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!

- That hair tonic is something else, ain't it?

- I keep thinking of the devil.

- Not-so-subtle reference to the slave ships of the 17th centuries.

- Interesting reference, Doctor.

- That little quirking of his lips in response to Donna's jab. =) Cute.

- That PR woman is awesome. Well, awesome in a certain way. She took in every situation without batting an eye; quite good at her job, she is.

- 0_0

- Happy with your toy, are you?

- BOND!Doctor.

- Flat on his back, now that's attractive. ;)

- *random* Silana's shoes are so inappropriate for running. :p

- KNEW THAT WASN'T HAIR TONIC. Um. Right?

- Only the telepathic can hear it?

- Oh, wow. That was amazing.

- Donna. *wibble* The Doctor can still hear it and he'll always hear it. And he accepts that.

- I WANT TO GO HOME. Holy shit. That's the first time in New Who that one of the main companions actually said that.

- *nod*nod*nod* The Doctor nodding, lovely that.

- Silana's going to die, isn't she?

- OH. Okay, I paused the thing right before the Ood stole her brain. Nice.

- THAT IS REALLY CREEPY. Imagine having red-eye Ood coming upon you while you're handcuffed with high quality handcuffs.

- They're both trying their damndest and they're both trying the words they think are best. Interesting display of their partnership.

- ARE RABID OOD ACTUALLY ZOMBIES IN DISGUISE?

- Love the Doctor putting Donna behind him since he could survive a bullet and she can't.

- Ah. Oh. Eh. HOOOOOOOO. I am speechless.

- *random* was right about the hair tonic.

- Yeah. It is a bit hard to see whether it was right or wrong.

- Typical. Almost forgot about the explosives.

- "Your song must end soon."
"Every song must end."

- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ENTERING TARDIS THEME!!!!!!!!!! BUT ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS FOR THE DOCTOR.

- This is the second time in this season that they've been basically canonized. MY GOD.

- Alas. The next episode is the first of a two-parter. Maybe I should save them for together?

... HA. Yeah right.

I liked this episode, if only because I had a few moments of genuine shock (OOD EYE) and I really liked the interaction between the Doctor and Donna. I loved how hard it was for her and how she almost decided to go home because of it. When she said, "I want to go home," I felt myself raise my eyebrows. I think this is the first time I've heard a companion actually say those words.

His reaction to it was certainly a bit different from the Ninth Doctor's reaction to the possibility of Rose staying behind. Interesting.

I found the parallels of Donna and Rose an odd, yet wonderful, twist. They're both immediately concerned with the fact that the Oods are slaves, and both try to befriend and make sense of the Ood. Liked how they drew back on the fact that in The Impossible Planet and Satan's Pit, the Doctor really was very preoccupied with other things and had barely paid any attention to them except in the very end. Their ignominious end in Satan's Pit was made up in this episode.

Donna's inability to listen to their singing for more than a few moments was actually endearing to me. Cause I can see that. We're not used to telepathy, we're not used to being able to hear the pain of others, and that really made Donna's character for me. I loved how she immediately wanted it gone and then she apologized and the Doctor understood, and EEEE, their partnership is awesome.

The whole episode was bringing us up to that, what, five second clip of the Doomsday-themed music? Which wasn't actually the Doomsday music, but the song that played upon Rose first entering the TARDIS? (which, by the way, I forced my friends to compare and they were like, 'yeah, they sound the same' and I was like, WOOT OMFIEJIORJEIWOJFIEWJ and they were like OMGWEGOTTARUNAWAY!)

I'm not sure what they mean by "your song must come to an end" but I actually don't think it's about regeneration, oddly enough. Mostly because it's so obvious. With all the ways they've played with words before, I think it has something to do with Rose and her return.

Also... doesn't hurt that in the Parting of the Way, the Doctor sang a song and the Daleks ran away. Coincidence? I don't know, but I hope not. I think... Bad Wolf is coming out to play again.

EEEEEK. I can't wait for the next episode, if only because every episode brings us closer to the final three!

INORITE!! it was staring me in the face at the very start of the show and i was grinning like a happy little... grinning thing.

donna was all sorts of GREAT in this episode. i'm seeing the chemistry now ♥

i've actually been impressed with the CG for the series so far. i mean vesuvius impressed me a lot. the snow landscape and effects for this one weren't bad either! ...or am i just too easily impressed ^^;

- Moltebennet? I SO SPELLED THAT WRONG.

"molto bene" it was, i think. italian, yes? :3

all in all, i liked this ep a lot more than the vesuvius one, but the references to slavery in human history struck me as a bit tired and... old school. i can't help but feel the writers could've been more imaginative about it, but for the life of me i can't think of how :/

as for "your song must end" - seems like a minor plant. i mean nothing as earthshaking as "you are not alone" - unless we're looking forward to a new archvillain who happens to be named YSME. oh noez.

His hair made me LAUGH SO HARD. And I am totally loving it; I was missing Rose's myriad hairstyles from S2, so I'm glad it seems like we'll be getting the Doctor as a substitute for S4. ;p

Vesuvius was amazing, but the snow landscape was too pristine; I think that's what bothered me. It was so shiny and perfect that I couldn't see it as real. And for some reason, whenever they did a 'sweeping' scene shot, I thought of Star Wars, episodes 1, 2, and 3. 0_0

but the references to slavery in human history struck me as a bit tired and... old school.

Actually, I kinda felt the same way after a second viewing of the episode. I guess it'd be hard not to utilize parallels, but I suppose I wish they'd tried a bit harder. I didn't recognize the writer for this episode, though.

I'm starting to think that I'm putting too much into every little detail in the show. Davies, for all we know, could be winding us up because he knows the buzz about Tennant leaving. IT COULD BE. I've grown fond of Tennant's Doctor; I'd probably cry just as hard for him as I did for the Ninth Doctor if he leaves after 2009.
