Why didn't Storm hold the water apart with wind? Or freeze it? Too much combined? *thinks* That's been bothering me for a while now, that the writer's seemed to have forgotten a small, very handy point that Storm might have been able to stop the water (with maybe Bobby's help) by freezing... or by shearing the water apart with wind? There must have been another way *other* than sacrificing Jean's life.

*shrugs* It was a fantastic ending, but I wonder if they made an arbitrary decision (since those who have read the comics or seen the cartoon back in '95 knows that Storm *can* hold back a huge-arse tidal wave that was about the same size as the flood that was breaking toward them) just for the drama. And to introduce Phoenix. Which to me is a rather shoddy way to bring the entity in, since Phoenix doesn't exactly just jump into a human body from nowhere...

But that's just my complaints, since I like to nitpick.

Now... to Storm and Nightcrawler. I am now enamoured with this couple. Logan and Marie? *grin* Sure, but Ororo and Kurt are SO ADORABLE. SO CUTE. SO PERFECT. If Halle Berry doesn't return for the next movie, I shall be most disappointed with her for not continuing this lovely little sideplot/romance. *dreamy*

Their interactions are some of the highest (IMO) points in the movie. Mystique and Lady Deathstrike were also in two of my favourite scenes. Mystique rocked with her entire sequence involved in flipping, kicking, knocking, hitting, sliding her way into the central control room. I loved how Yuriko just *kicked* Wolverine's arse in that beautifully coordinated scene of combat.

Hee hee.

I'll blather more and more on this probably. I can't quite get X-2 out of my head... fortunately.

*coughs* Saturday was my grandmother's birthday, and we celebrated quietly. On Sunday, we had brunch at our club with some other families and had the Mother's Day brunch. G-ma loved it, but I didn't quite care for the food; but the desserts were fantastic, especially the cream cheese blintzes. A small taste of heaven.

We had dinner at an old, old, old friend's restaurant of my g-ma's, and it was fun, since I haven't seen some of my relatives in a while, and it was an excellent way to get together again without all the... ahem, fuss. If you know my family, you'll understand what I mean. With double, triple marriages, adopted moms, vicious gossip, my family is not the sort you'd put on the cover of Family Circle.

Vicious gossip in the name of vicious gossip. One of my cousin's is a black sheep of the family. *shakes head* 'Nuff said. *pause* Never mind.

Anyway, other stuff later.
