After several hours of eating, bitching to my roommate and more eating, I've decided that the finale didn't suck... it just didn't end with the bang I had wanted to. I suppose one good thing was that it was so open-ended; fic-writers are going to have a *field* day with 'from here on' fics.
First of all. It sucks that Spike died. I mean. It really, really sucks. But hell, why not? Someone had to die to save them all; might as well been for vampire who's killed way too many. And it was a bit like his last redemption.
I shall truly miss him.
And I'm pissed that Anya died, but it was too obvious when Xander suggested Anya use Andrew as a human shield that something was going to happen to her. I *did* like that there was no massive crying scene from Xander to Anya's body. That she was left there because there simply was no time left to look. And the fact that Xander couldn't cry for her, because she had chosen to save someone she never would have in the past.
Interesting, if not devastating. I liked Anya.
Back to Spike yet again: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
When they were talking about the mall; alright, that was cool. It hearkened back to the olden days, and gave me a touch of nostalgic rememberence. And it was kind of cool and ironic that Gile intones a line in the finale that comes from the first episode. "The Earth is doomed". Very, very cool.
Still do not like Kennedy. But personal biases abound. Slayers awakening was astounding and nice, but am now confused how that story will pan out. Will Watchers become irrelevant?
Faith kicks ass. And she and Principal Wood need more time together. The "surprise" was a surprise.
Argh! *tears hair out* I can't believe it just *ended* like that! There's... there's...
Ow. For some reason, ever since the show finished, a nerve right behind my ear's been pinching every so often. Is it saying something?
*sighs*
*sniff* I will really miss Buffy.
